Otherwise I'm very happy with my purchase. My only negative comment would be that the front seat bottoms seem to be a bit small in area. It has more than adequate acceleration, stops very well and the handling is crisp and very responsive. It is so quiet you can barely hear the engine when running. I especially like the under floor storage compartment behind the 3rd row seating. I found the fit and finish of the interior to be very good. You can adjust them front to rear and they recline too. I really like the second row bucket seats. My LT has most of the bells and whistles you will ever need. Get the best deals for 2018 traverse tail light at. Excellent dash graphics and logically laid out. At about 6,000 miles a few weeks after my 1st oil change my engine light came on resulting in a catalytic converter issue, replacement. I have to like/love the outside first, otherwise I move on to something else. The 2019 Chevy Traverse is especially well known for steering, electrical system, brakes and engine problems. I wanted a Tahoe but couldn't justify the steep price. From here on out I'll stick to driving GMs as rental cars. I expected more for the price, and I'm quite disappointed in the overall quality. I love the space in the Traverse, but after owning one for 50,000 miles I've had enough. I find the seats to be uncomfortable for trips lasting more than 2 hours. The ride is good on very smooth roads, but bone jarring on anything else. It's a common defect with the Traverse, but it's nothing GM will address. Paired with all-season blackwall tires Dual. At 2200 RPMs there is a very loud engine drone due to the exhaust resonance. Adds brightness in low-light conditions 20 Argent metallic machined face aluminum wheels. Shortly after that was fixed, the stereo touch screen went blank for about 15 seconds (luckily, it only did this once. Our selection includes smoke, clear, red, black, chrome, and much more. The manual gear select button doesn't always work (it's no longer under warranty), which is a common problem with these vehicles due to a bad wire connection. Make your 2018 Chevy Traverse a unique machine with a set of custom LED tail lights. The interior started out quiet but now has several small squeaks and rattles. At about 5000 miles the center console had to be replaced because it started warping. Ever since we got it, the tailgate button intermittently quits working, but it can't be fixed as it's not replicable enough for the dealership to identify the problem and it doesn't throw errors. Nice looks and space for a mid-sized SUV but there are too many issues with this vehicle for me to recommend. Phyllis loved her many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family, whether a Buckeye or Wolverine, and they loved her too. She was so popular among her siblings that they selected her as the Godmother to four nieces and nephews: Veronica Stemen, Andy Mayle (the communist), Angie Hanson, and Amanda Babione (an unofficial Mayle family record). Whether visiting with family at Mayleville, on the boat at Nugents Canal, or in the stands at a kid’s game, Phyllis Kiser was the one everyone wanted to laugh with. (The jury is still out on Phyllis having played amateur matchmaker for Shelly.) More so, these relationships gifted Phyl with the title of Nana! Alex, Dom, Ty, Will, Lily, Tommy, Cody, and Zach were privileged to be spoiled by her. Ed married Elizabeth and Russ married Jessica. Tom and Phyl were ecstatic when their family began to grow. After their kids all graduated high school, Phyllis encouraged Tom to continue coaching, and together they impacted many other kids lives. She also encouraged Tom to coach his children to help maintain his work-life balance. She supported Tom through the ups and downs of the business. With confidence, she supported Tom, the love of her life, to use her wedding ring as collateral in 1979 for a small business loan that helped Tom launch an engineering firm that succeeded beyond expectation. Phyllis was not only kind and beautiful, she was competitive with street smarts. She can rest easy knowing Air Jordan never caught up with her rampant trademark infringement after gifting many teenagers her homemade sweatshirts. She supervised countless sleepovers where untold quantities of Hawaiian Punch were consumed and was viewed by the Fremont community as a trusted second mom. She was the loudest cheerleader in the football stands or basketball bleachers or wherever her family competed. Phyllis was known for the range of pitch of her squeals while cheering on her kid’s teams. A testament to Phyllis’ refusal to offer her family anything but her best, this obituary will not read that she was preceded in death by Louie, whose pediatricians said he’d only live to be two-years old. After raising her children Russ, Ed, and Shelly, how did Phyllis’ beautiful blonde hair not turn gray many decades ago? We know the secret: her unconditional devotion to her son Louie kept her young and playful at heart. You can even get any additional information about the devices, including the manufacturers, IP addresses, operating systems, and MAC addresses. Moreover, when used with Radmin, the software lets you remotely access any device on the local network and turn it off. All files available on a shared folder, including images, documents, spreadsheets, and videos can be made available to all other computers in the network. Once launched, the program gives you complete access to all shared folders and network resources. There are various Advanced IP Scanner features with which you might not be familiar. Scanning several IP addresses together is also quite simple, and you can do it by uploading a text file onto the platform. Once the scanning is complete, the app will send back a report containing information like the MAC address, hostname, interface vendor, and any additional response. In case you wish to scan a single IP address using the Advanced IP Scanner download, you can do so by entering the address in the app’s top bar and clicking on the scan button. You can always run a full scan anytime you wish to check the ports or all available IP addresses. By doing this, you can save some time and only run a scan on limited devices, instead of the entire local network. The favorites section of the software lets you add different machines that you wish to scan regularly. The primary window also lets you adjust the speed of the scan or run a limited device scan. If you click on scan, the software shows information about all available hardware in the results section. The layout also includes a tab for results and a section for all devices marked favorite. When you download Advanced IP Scanner, you get access to a clean and simple interface with a prominent scan button. Does Advanced IP Scanner have a user-friendly interface? However, some of these functions only work in conjunction with the developer’s remote administration tools like RDP and Radmin. The software also lets network admins control computers remotely, such that they can turn off machines or fix troubleshooting errors. In addition to this, Advanced IP Scanner for Windows detects all types of devices, including internet routers and wireless products. It also provides access to shared folders and network resources like FTP, HTTP, and HTTPS. Once launched, Advanced IP Scanner can locate all available PCs on your LAN and provide you with details about each desktop. The free and simple network scanner is available on Windows and can also run as a portable application. If someone wakes up to find a bat in the room, that is also considered an exposure even if they cannot identify a bite.Ī bat’s teeth are small, so someone who has been bitten by a bat may not know it, or may be unable to communicate it (for example, very small children). Rabies can also be contracted when saliva from a rabid animal comes into contact with a person’s eyes, nose, mouth, or an open wound. People can get rabies from being bitten by an infected animal. Rabies is a deadly virus that affects the brain and nervous system. If exposed, please seek medical attention immediately.” Rabies can be prevented in a number of ways including vaccinating pets, being cautious around wildlife, and seeking medical care immediately after a potential exposure. “It is important that Illinois residents know how to prevent rabies exposure to protect themselves and their loved ones. “Rabies is a fatal but preventable disease,” said IDPH Director Dr. The disease can also be found in other wild animals, including raccoons, skunks, foxes, and coyotes. Rabies has also been found in bats in Bureau, Clark, DeKalb, Macon, McLean, Peoria, Rock Island, Sangamon, Wayne, and Will counties.īats are the most common source of potential infection in Illinois, and exposures from bats tend to be more frequent during the summer months, especially July and August, the release says. There have been five rabid bats each in Kankakee and Lake counties, four in Cook County, and three in McHenry County. So far this year, 27 rabid bats have been found in fourteen Illinois counties. The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reminds the public to be aware of the potential for exposure to rabies from infected animals, a news release. IRE is only used on patients with intermediate-risk prostate cancer, who have small, visible tumors shown on the MRI. Additionally, the IRE technique can destroy small prostate tumors without treating the rest of the prostate thus reducing the side effects. These strong electric fields destroy cancer cells without exposing the prostate to radiation or heating it. Irreversible electroporation (IRE) is a focal therapy technology that ablates prostate tissue by delivering short, high-voltage electrical pulses through needle electrodes preplaced within the tissue to be ablated. What is irreversible electroporation ablation? The goal of focal therapy treatment is to reduce side effects while maintaining cancer control. It is a novel image-guided tissue ablation for prostate cancer that targets areas of known cancer within the prostate while preserving the surrounding tissue. "Focal therapy" is FDA-approved for surgical ablation of soft tissue. The radiation therapy treatment is associated with urinary side effects and erectile dysfunction. Currently, the standard of care treatment for prostate cancer involves treatment of the entire organ with surgery or radiation therapy. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in the United States. What are the treatment options for localized prostate cancer? Alice Yu, a urologist in the Department of Genitourinary Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center, discusses treatment options for localized prostate cancer. On the basis of previous findings, 20 we also examined whether prices for American Spirit were lower in neighborhoods with a higher proportion of youth and lower in pharmacies compared to other stores. On the basis of evidence that the tobacco companies have marketed menthol cigarette brands to specific groups (eg cheaper in African-American/Black neighborhoods), 21, 22 we examined whether a lower price for American Spirit would exist in neighborhoods with a higher proportion of AI/AN residents. 17, 20 To date, less research has examined American Spirit relative to other cigarette brands in the same stores and in relation to neighborhood demography. Research on variation in cigarette prices by brand and neighborhood demography has focused almost exclusively on the premium brands Marlboro (Philip Morris and Altria) and Newport (manufactured by Lorillard until it was acquired by Reynolds American in 2015). 18 In addition, AI/ANs have the highest rate of tobacco use in the United States 8 and a relative lower income. 17 Although price sensitivity of AI/AN smokers in the United States has not been studied, previous research in New Zealand found that indigenous smokers of Maori heritage were more price sensitive when compared to smokers of European heritage. Price sensitivity among youth who smoke is well established. Previous studies demonstrate consumers’ willingness to pay higher prices for organic foods, 14–16 but the relative price of cigarettes that are marketed as organic or additive-free has not been studied. Approximately 8.8% of US high school students reported past-month cigarette smoking. 11 Indeed, California’s American Indian Tobacco Education Network sponsored a counter-marketing campaign near AI/AN tribal lands that pictured American Spirit and two other cigarette brands with the message, “Stop the sale of our image: Don’t buy the lie.” 12 Another priority population are adolescents who smoke cigarettes, use other tobacco products, or are susceptible to future use. 10 American Spirit is noteworthy for marketing tactics that may appeal to the AI/AN community, contributing to misperceptions that the brand is manufactured by AI/ANs or on tribal lands near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Analyses of previously secret tobacco industry documents criticized tobacco companies, including Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company, for appropriating AI/AN imagery, symbols, and the ceremonial use of traditional tobacco to market commercial tobacco products. In spite of significant declines in cigarette smoking over three decades, one of the smallest declines was observed among American Indians/Alaska Natives (AI/ANs), 7 a priority population with the highest smoking prevalence in the United States (31.8%) 8 and in California (32.2%), 9 where this research was conducted. In 2018, new packaging replaced the banned terms with the phrase “Tobacco Ingredients: Tobacco & Water.” Four of the 14 varieties of American Spirit are marketed as organic. The US Food and Drug Administration required the manufacturer (Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company, owned by Reynolds America, a division of British American Tobacco) to remove the marketing terms “additive-free” and “natural” from American Spirit packaging and advertising, 6 but allowed the company to retain “natural” in its brand name. 3, 4 Cigarettes marketed as “natural” are more likely to be perceived by youth as less harmful to health, 5 and research examining perceptions about American Spirit has found that the brand appeals more to younger smokers (aged 18–34 years) than to older smokers. 2 In previous studies, smokers and nonsmokers were more likely to perceive American Spirit as the “healthier” option and rated the brand as less likely to cause harm to health compared to other cigarette brands. More than 2.5 million adult smokers incorrectly believe that their cigarettes are less harmful than others, 1 and American Spirit smokers are more than 20 times as likely as smokers of other brands to endorse this false belief. Ozone can also form from reactions of VOCs or carbon monoxide and NOx. Ozone can damage mucous tissues such as lung linings, as well as vegetation. Ozone is helpful to block UV radiation when at high above the ground in the stratosphere. Particulates can be emitted either directly (primary) from sources like exhaust gas, wood fires and fireworks, or can form in the atmosphere (secondary) from chemicals emitted from VOCs like fuel and household products (like paints), and gaseous vehicle emissions of NOx. PM 2.5 is the largest component of Utah's wintertime pollution. Particulates can also cross the blood–brain barrier and cause degenerative brain diseases such as Dementia and Alzheimer's, mental illness, and reduced intelligence. Particulates can cross into the blood stream and cause irregular heartbeats, heart attacks, and strokes. Particulates, especially smaller ones such as PM 2.5, can enter deep into the lungs to cause or worsen respiratory disease issues, and decrease lung function. School children in Utah have been kept inside during poor air quality events. To try and reduce negative health effects of outdoor air quality in Utah, at risk groups (including the young, the elderly, and those who exercise outdoors) are advised to stay indoors. PM 2.5 is usually the pollutant of concern in winters in Utah, and ozone is the pollutant of concern in summers. Two pollutant measurements of highest concern for health are PM 2.5 (or amount of fine particulates with diameters of 2.5 μm or less) of and ozone levels. Most hazardous mobile emissions are not as visible as in this picture. Mobile sources, including both gasoline and diesel vehicles, are one of the leading contributors to poor air quality in Utah. Pollutants, sources, and health concerns This diesel-powered truck emits an exhaust gas rich in black particulate matter when starting its engine. Less use of gas-powered snow blowers, fireworks, gas-powered lawnmowers, and materials with high volatile organic compound emissions such as certain paints can help keep air clean throughout the year. Emissions can be reduced by using gasoline and diesel vehicles less by more carpooling and taking public transit, less idling, use of newer vehicles (especially clean fuel vehicles), and combining trips. To improve air quality, especially during inversions, there are restrictions on burning wood fires with fines starting at $150 for first-time offenses in Salt Lake County. Pollution for inversions can begin to build-up even when the air is clear. A typical winter in Salt Lake City has about 6 multi-day inversions that lead to about 18 days of pollution above National Ambient Air Quality Standards. While inversions are a natural phenomenon, when coupled with community emissions from gasoline and diesel vehicles, wood fires, industry, and agriculture they can cause unnatural accumulations of hazardous pollutants (especially PM 2.5). Inversions and air quality Winter inversion in the Salt Lake Valley seen from Grandeur Peak.ĭue to the mountainous terrain and cold winters, inversions frequently occur in Utah and throughout the Intermountain West. For example, from 2015 to 2016 the state offered up to a $1500 credit for clean fuel vehicles However, in 2019 Utah began imposing an additional registration fee on clean fuel vehicles that will increase to $120 annually by 2021. Utah has had mixed responses to poor air quality. An MIT study estimated that over 450 deaths annually in Utah are due to poor air quality. Of the 12 counties with ozone data from 2014 to 2016, 7 received an "F" grade by the ALA, and 6 of 9 counties monitored received an "F" for particulate pollution. Logan was ranked the 11th worst city for short-term particle pollution. and 8th for worst short-term particle pollution, just after Los Angeles. In 2017 the American Lung Association (ALA) ranked Salt Lake City-Provo-Orem area as the 14th worst city for ozone air quality in the U.S. About 50% of air pollution in Salt Lake County is from vehicles. Homes heated with wood contribute about 3000 times the amount of pollution as homes heated with natural gas. Burning wood fuel for home heating can also contribute significantly to poor air quality. Poor air quality in Utah is due to the mountainous topography which can cause pollutants to build up near the surface (especially during inversions ) combined with the prevalence of emissions from gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles, especially older models. Pollutants lead to low contrast near the base of the mountains.Īir quality in Utah is often some of the worst in the United States. My standard day packed in to this thing is something like 4-5 containers and some loose fruit and maybe a yogurt if I'm running behind in the AM and that barely fills one side. I have yet to run out of space in this cooler. The ISO CUBE is way more functional than my older ISO BAG, still holds a 30 oz tumbler and my coffee mug with the mesh pockets on the sides and the bigger interior means that if I don't want to use the ISO containers my standard tuperware fits no problem. The included ice packs keep the cooler chilled for over 10 hours in my experience (providing you don't leave it in the baking sun) and because they built in slots for the ice packs on the inside of the cooler they don't take away from the storage capacity. These coolers are high quality, made in the USA with a lifetime warranty. It might not have all that ice retention that other brands brag about but personally I don't feel like carrying around a cooler that is 2 foot square that can only fit a 6 pack just because it holds ice for an unnecessary amount of time. This is my second ISO bag, I wanted something a little bigger because of my new job. |
